Third Direct Flight Option to Denver From March

Third Direct Flight Option to Denver From March

Published : 27-Jan-2018 08:15

United Airlines will become the third airline to fly from London to Denver direct from March, only a few years after options on the route were severely limited.

BA and American airlines share one service on the route and Norwegian more recently launched a direct service with three weekly flights from Gatwick, using the no frills airline pricing model.

All flights are operated by a fleet of brand new Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft with two cabins – Premium and economy. Fares start from £185 one-way and £415 return in economy including all taxes and charges ("subject to availability").
"You might have hesitated about whether to go to the USA because of the travel cost uplift compared to Europe. Now, there's not so much in it," a spokesman for Colorado skiing commented.

The United service, be a resumption of a route they have operated in the past, is "summer only" but actually begins on March 24, 2018, with daily flights through to Oct. 26th 2018 so is well timed for Easter skiers heading West just as the snowpack builds in Colorado after a slow start to winter 17-18.

The service will operate using a 219-seat Boeing 787-8 aircraft.

Who knows it might also be used in mid-October when high Colorado resorts like Arapahoe Basin and Loveland tend to be amongst the first non-glacier resorts in the world to open for the new season.

London sends more passengers to Denver than any other international city with 150,000 people using the route each year.
