Ski Scotland Issues All Area Pass With Hope Of Another Epic Winter

Ski Scotland Issues All Area Pass With Hope Of Another Epic Winter

Published : 19-Sep-2010 09:27

ski-scotland is again selling all-area season passes for the coming winter and they are now available online and already eager skiers and snowboarders are snapping them up.

"We expected demand to be great for our 2011 all-area passes, given the superb snow which Scotland enjoyed over the last very long winter season", said Chair of ski-scotland Heather Negus.

"So we have made the tickets available online sooner than in previous years. Although we've yet to promote this, sales have already been brisk!"

Ski season 2009-10 was the best since 1995-6, with a total of
374,789 "skier days" across the five mountain ski areas, worth at least £37.5M to the Scottish economy.

With a limited number of the passes available and lower prices throughout September, ski-scotland is expecting demand to pick up over the next few weeks. The passes are valid from the start of the ski season at all of Scotland's five mountain ski areas – CairnGorm Mountain, Glencoe Mountain, Glenshee, the Lecht and Nevis Range – and also entitle the holder to a free session to hone their skills at SNO!zone, Scotland's indoor real snow centre at Braehead in Glasgow. The low price of £410 for and adult and £225 for a child will be held until the end of September, when prices will rise to £450 and £255 respectively.

"The passes offer tremendous value," continued Heather, "as they give skiers and boarders the flexibility to go where conditions are best whenever they want to have some fun on the snow. Our five mountain ski areas are so close to each other that you can really just choose whichever has the best snow and best weather forecast. The passes are also really easy to buy on www.ski-scotland.com"
