Davos and Laax Opening This Weekend

Published : 31-Oct-2017 01:40

Davos has announced it will open some runs on its Parsenn ski area this weekend, 4th/5th November.

It will be the sixth Swiss areas to open already for winter 17-18, joining Engelberg, Glacier 3000 near Gstaad, The Diavolezza Glacier near St Moritz and Saas Fee and Zermatt.

A seventh glacier ski area at Laax has also announced it will open on the 4th.

Other high Swiss areas like Arosa, Crans Montana and Samnaun plan to open from around mid-November on.

On Saturday and Sunday at Davos the Parsenn cable car will take winter sports guests up from Davos to the snow sports area where slope "No. 15 Totalp" has been prepared and awaits guests for their first runs of the new season.

The restaurants "Totalp", "Weissfluhjoch", "Parsennhütte", "Restaurant Höhenweg" and the "Mungga Hütta" will also all be open.

The resort says that if the weather and snow conditions are once again favourable on the following weekend, Parsenn will again have a second "Pre-Season Opening" on 11/12 November.

The official start of the season is on Friday, 17 November 2017, if the conditions are good.
Lift tickets purchased online will be sold at a 30% discount.
