Cairngorm to open M1 lift from Friday

Cairngorm to open M1 lift from Friday

Published : 04-Jan-2024 10:03

Cairngorm Mountain Resort has confirmed that they will be opening their M1 Poma lift from Friday for 'more experienced skiers and boarders'.

This will give access to the White Lady and the M1 pistes, to add to the beginner's area at the base of the mountain, currently available on 200m of SnowFactory-created snow.

Cairngorm has advised that the new lift is 'only suitable for experts', especially as it requires a walk to the M1 Poma.

Tickets will be available to purchase on line from the website from this afternoon (Thu 04 December).

Tickets for the beginners area are not currently available online. If any become available, they will be avaialble on site only.

According to the operations team, the middle of Coire Cas and 105 pistes have 'very thin' snow cover and the only run in that area is the M1 crossover into the Cas Gunbarrel.

While the resort has lost more snow in recent wet and warmer temperatures, the forecast is a long spell of cold and settled dry weather.
