La Rosière expands Sustainability Measures ahead of new season

French ski resort La Rosière has confirmed more environmental measures ahead of the 2026/27 winter season.
Measures range from renewable energy and lower-emission vehicles to biodiversity monitoring and incentives for visitors arriving by train.
La Rosière has said that initiatives introduced since 2022 have reduced energy consumption in its buildings by 30%. That has been aided by solar panels at the Forêt car park, which generated 16.4 MWh during its first six months.
The resort's snow groomers run on HVO fuel, which has reduced their CO2 emissions by more than 80%.
Other measures to reduce emissions by staff include e-bikes and three electric company vehicles, including a nine-seat electric minibus.
La Rosière is also continuing its 'Voyager Vert' initiative, which offers holidaymakers arriving by rail a discount on a future ski pass.
The resort has held Flocon Vert certification since November 2023. Awarded by Mountain Riders, the certification recognises destinations working on environmental, social and economic aspects of sustainable tourism.
