Chandolin

At 2000 metres Chandolin is one of Europe's highest communities. The altitude guarantees snow as well as spectacular views, including the Matterhorn. This is a genuine and traditional village where the ski slopes are normally uncrowded.

The Swiss ski resort of Chandolin is in the Swiss Alps at an altitude of 2,000m6,562ft, with 54km34 miles of marked runs.

Chandolin is part of the Sierre-Anniviers ski area with access to 159km99 miles of downhill skiing, with 80 marked pistes, served by a total of 51 ski lifts. In addition to the skiing in Chandolin itself (54km34 miles of pisted ski runs), the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other Sierre-Anniviers ski resorts of Grimentz, St-Luc, Vercorin and Zinal.

The ski resort itself is at 2,000m6,562ft, so skiing or boarding back to the resort is usually possible. With ski lifts as high as 2,715m8,907ft, skiing and snowboarding is assured throughout the season.

How to get there

 By Air

The nearest airport to Chandolin is Sion, 60 minutes drive away.

Berne, Annecy and Geneva airports are all within three hours drive.

Sion is just one hours drive away, in good driving conditions, so you can be on the piste quickly.

The 14 ski lifts are able to uplift 11,000 skiers and snowboarders every hour.

Snow-making is available, on 25km16 miles of ski runs, with 20 snow cannons.
