The ski area of Oberau is in the Austrian Alps at an altitude of 936m 3,071ft , with 109km 68 miles of marked runs.

Oberau is part of the Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau area with access to 114km 71 miles of downhill skiing, with 83 marked pistes, served by a total of 45 ski lifts. In addition to the skiing in Oberau itself ( 109km 68 miles of pisted ski runs), the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau ski resorts of Alpbach, Auffach, Kramsach, Niederau, Reith im Alpbachtal and Thierbach.

Skiing

Oberau is surrounded by the stunning peaks of the Alps, with a ski area that spans approximately 50 kilometers of slopes. The highest point reaches an elevation of 1,800 meters, and notable pistes include the family-friendly 'Bergbahn' run and the challenging 'Schwarze Piste'. Key lifts such as the Oberauerbahn and the Wiesenlift provide easy access to the slopes.

There are a variety of pistes to suit all levels of skier ability, from Beginner to Expert.

How to get there

 By Air

The nearest airport to Oberau is Innsbruck Airport, 50 minutes drive away.

Munich, Salzburg, Memmingen, Bolzano, St. Gallen-Altenrhein, Graz, Linz and Friedrichshafen airports are all within three hours drive.

Innsbruck Airport is just one hours drive away, in good driving conditions, so you can be on the piste quickly.

Oberau is easily accessible via major transport routes, with the nearest airport being Innsbruck, located approximately 70 kilometers away. From there, you can take a train or drive to the resort, enjoying the scenic alpine roads.

The five ski lifts are able to uplift 30,000 skiers and snowboarders every hour.

Snow-making is available, on 25km 16 miles of ski runs, with 25 snow cannons.

When is Oberau open?

We don't currently have confirmed season dates, but hope to soon.

Usual opening is early December, and usual closing is Early April.

NOTE:- Ski area, lift and piste opening is subject to Current Snow Conditions.

After a day on the slopes, enjoy the lively après-ski scene at local favorites like the 'Alpenstube' and 'Bergschmied'. For a night out, the 'Oberauer Bar' offers a relaxed atmosphere to unwind with drinks and music.
